Australia’s highest temperature was recorded at Oodnadatta in South Australia. The thermometer went up to 50.7 ºC on 2 January 1960.

Coldest place
The coldest place in Down Under is Charlotte Pass in New South Wales. On 29 June 1994 the temperature fell down to -23 ºC.

Highest daily rainfall
In Queensland is the location with the highest daily rainfall. 907mm were recorded in Crohamhurst on 3 February 1893.

Highest monthly rainfall
5387mm of rain came down in one month at Bellenden Ker (Top station) in Queensland. That happened in January 1979. Bellenden Ker is the second highest mountain in Queensland (1593 metres / 5226 ft.)

Fridday 23 March 2012:
Described by a TV presenter as a once in a century weather event some massive rainfall came the Sunshine Coast in Southern Queensland on Thursday afternoon 22.March 2012. There are reports of nearly 400 mm of rain at some places. It is just amazing, have a look to the footage below to see the unbelievable downpour.
