On my way to Wellington
|
Today is the day of “meeting nice people”. It starts in the morning in Langhome Creek where I had a few very nice chats with some other campers. During my cycle trip, people get always interested in the Extrawheel trailer. We exchanged some website addresses and ideas before I went to Wellington. The road was flat and easy to cycle, not too much traffic.
In Wellington at the caravan park I met some really nice Aussie characters. Four couples had a great weekend away from home and had a comfortable spot around 30 metres opposite my tent. We got on well and had always a great laugh. During the day I managed to get some washing of my clothes done and worked on my website.

Great Aussie Barbeque
|
In the evening I got invited for a Barbeque with my new Aussie friends. Hey you just can’t beat the great Aussie Barbeque. I had many of BBQ’s during my numerous visits to Down Under and it was always a fantastic experience. So on that Saturday as well. I loved the different food, like the award winning baked potato slices, the salad with mangoes and onions and of course the sausages and steaks with tomato and BBQ sauce. Compliment to the boys and girls who did some outstanding cooking. And that’s was for sure we had some great laugh’s and a great time that evening.

But that is what life is about. Don’t take everything to serious. Life is too short to feel sorry about things you haven’t done. Go for it! Peggy said to me she loves it getting out with friends, have a nice sit around, good food, some cool drinks and lots of fun, hey you are so right.

See the Old Courthouse in Wellington
|
Before I went back on the road to cycle Australia there is the question: What else is to see in Wellington? Well you shouldn’t miss the Old Court House which is located just before you reach the well known ferry. The Wellington Court House offers café & dining, functions, and accommodation. Worth a visit is the museum in the Courthouse. I had a closer look and was much exited. Fern Elise-Elliott who runs the Courthouse put a lot of work and passion into the complex. Check it out; it is a place of good food with lots of character. See the website of the Old Courthouse in Wellington
